Introduction of non-native plants into the natural environment (Nature and Environment No. 87) (1998)
The present report examines the problems that the spread of invasive non-native plants produces or can produce. The concept and categories of "introduced plants" and the heritage value of these plants are examined. The report also studies the deliberate introduction, re-introduction and safeguarding of genetic biodiversity, and the invasion of plants introduced into wildlife areas. Finally, it presents the research, educational and action programmes which should be supported in this field.
