Protected areas : centres for propagating a general nature conservation policy (Environment Encounters No. 40) (1998)
Managers of protected areas - some of them in charge of European Diploma sites - met from 8 to 10 June 1997 in the Abruzzi National Park (Italy). Their aim was to discuss the major role played by protected sites in a general nature conservation policy.
Drawing on their experiences of reconciling human activities with nature and landscape conservation needs, the participants were able to work out principles applicable to the whole territory.
