Compendium of legal practice for lawyers in central and eastern Europe (1998)
The aim of this compendium is to provide a practical guide to the professional practice rules of most of the countries of central and eastern Europe in order to assist those who may have transactions in these countries, to provide an overview of the current situation on the integration process and to allow the Bars and lawyers of the countries concerned to compare what has been done in their own countries with what has been done in others. A harmonised approach to ethics and professional practice will facilitate mobility of lawyers as well as providing safeguards for clients throughout the world.
The compendium should provide lawyers of the West with an overview of developments in the East and may help them to provide legal services there. It may also be interesting for the lawyers of eastern Europe to see how their colleagues are adapting to the new rules and regulations.
